Zed, founded by Zaid Safiulla in April 2002, is a diversification of a family owned investment casting foundry called General Foundries (www.genfoundries.com), which manufactures investment castings for industrial use worldwide. General Foundries was established in 1968. Zaid is a Mechanical Engineer with an extensive foundry background. Zaid conceived the idea of Zed while he was earning his MBA. Zed was established to fulfill Zaid's vision of entering and mastering the fields of art and design.
